2--American Red Cross - Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter Allocation Amount: $1,260,160 |
United Way works with the American Red Cross to help people in the region at time of emergency or crisis. In addition to the ARC’s disaster relief efforts, United Way also services to families made homeless by fire or other disaster and supports educational programs for workplace and community health safety, efforts to guarantee a safe and adequate blood supply, assistance to members of the Armed Forces and Veterans, and youth programs. |

United Way supports YMCA’s broad spectrum of services in the areas of child care and youth development: preventive health programs, reading for the functionally illiterate, summer day camp, youth swim instruction, youth sports and recreation activities. |

With United Way’s support, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia offers an extensive array of programs for the region’s most vulnerable young people, including sports and fitness programs and youth activities encouraging the development of skills in character development, healthy living, career planning, technology, and arts and culture. |

United Way partners with the American Cancer Society to fight cancer through research, education, and community programs of prevention, detection and services to the patient and family in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties. |

In collaboration with United Way, the American Heart Association educates and advocates to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke through research, community programs and public and professional education. |
